There is an advantage when you vacation where you’ve already visited: a marked absence of hurry. The goal of our second day in LA: spend a long sunny day hiking along gorgeous Malibu beaches. For brunch, we decided on a plant only Cafe Gratitude. Their cleverly named menu of dishes like “I am Motivated”, puts one in a good mood!

I chose I am enthusiastic sandwich, a concoction made with oyster mushroom, tomato, pickles, romaine, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing on a vegan brioche bun.

Vanya chose I am Renewed bowl, made with blue majik spirulina, chia seed pudding, blueberries, superfood granola, ginger syrup, and micro flowers.

Nidhi chose I am Nourished wrap, concocted with tofu scramble, mushroom carnitas, potato, spinach, pico de gallo, black beans, spicy cashew aioli, avocado, and a side of smashed potatoes. I also took a Cappucino with almond milk, which was not to our liking, probably because we aren’t used to almond milk in our coffees.
